ORA - Oaks Revitalization Association

Through the Skills Trade Development Program (STDP), ORA represents a dedicated effort to break down the barriers faced by justice-involved individuals and provide them with the tools and opportunities necessary for personal growth and career advancement. This initiative aligns with broader societal goals of reducing recidivism, enhancing social inclusion, and fostering a more equitable and just society.

The aim is to create a seamless pathway for program participants to access training, apprenticeships, and eventual employment in construction-related fields.

BOLT

BOLT was launched by Tridel in 2009 and was established as a charitable foundation on January 1st, 2013. It started as a simple concept – to provide awareness and learning opportunities for youth associated with The Children’s Aid Society of Toronto to the field of construction. By establishing additional community, government and industry partnerships, BOLT has since expanded to reach an even broader range of youth.

BOLT’s mission is to connect job-ready, under-resourced youth aged 17-29 to careers in construction by providing access and support for skill training and financial awards for post secondary programs related to construction

Building Up

Building Up collaborates with trainees previously facing barriers to employment to provide Toronto with a range of high quality construction services. They provide an opportunity for customers to improve the livability of their spaces while propelling the careers of community members.

Jake's House

Jake’s House supports individuals on the spectrum throughout their lifespans through Mentoring workshops that provide youth with opportunities to learn skills, socialize and make friends; and  Employment Mentoring, a program that supports the integration of young adults into the workforce

STEP - Construction Trades Exploration Program

This program developed by the Toronto District School Board, allows students to spend a week at our facility to get a feel for what the construction industry has to offer. We also provide these students with the health and safety courses they will need to be job placement ready.

Miziwe Biik

Miziwe Biik is an aboriginal focused initiative to transition aboriginals into a career in construction.

Firstly I would like to recognize the tremendous efforts put forth by the 183 staff and trainers who’s commitment lead to the overall success of the program. We started with 12 participants and ended with 9 successfully completing all the course components. In respect to numbers this is a great achievement. The training that the participants received is what ultimately resulted in 9 of those securing meaningful employment with contractors across the GTA in various capacities, largely relating to the specific training received. As far as training programs go and from my own experience working in Pre-Apprenticeships, this program was one of the more successful initiates Miziwe Biik has embarked on in regards to successful outcomes and employment.

YWCA

YWCA helps women, girls and gender diverse people flee violence, secure housing, find jobs, establish their voices, enhance skills and develop confidence. They also offer a range of housing options, employment and training programs, community support programs, girls’ programs and family programs; they also engage in systemic advocacy.

OYAP

The Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program is a partnership we are very proud of. We currently partner with the Toronto Catholic District School Board, Toronto District School Board as well as the Peel District School Board. Students spend 8 weeks at our facility taking part in the CCW Level 1 program before going out to job placements. We have had much success with assisting the younger generation in discovering how lucrative the field of construction can be.
