Heavy Equipment Operator – Tractor Loader Backhoe
A Tractor Loader Backhoe Operator inspects, maintains, transports, and operates full (standard) size equipment in the construction and industrial sectors. Some of the duties include performing a pre-operational inspection, transporting equipment, installing attachments, and loading and unloading equipment. In addition, operators will also work on excavating, trenching, grading, stockpiling, and backfilling, among other duties.
Tractor Loader Backhoe Operators demonstrate knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Highway Traffic Act, Municipal Codes and By-Laws, basic rigging principles, and earthmoving fundamentals (e.g., ground conditions, and soil characteristics).
This Apprenticeship program consists of two (2) in-class levels completed in six (6) weeks and is a Red Seal Trade.
